Holocene climatic variations and environmental conditions promoting high metals concentrations in Atacama Desert and Altiplano: a bio-geo-chemical approach on lacustrine sediments.

This project was granted by ANID. It started on April 2020 and will last until march 2024. The main objective of this project is to characterize from a biological, geological and chemical view some high altitude lakes that have been affected by high metal and metalloid concentrations during the Holocene.

The principal investigator (PI) of this research project is Adriana Aránguiz from Universidad de Tarapacá (UTA), Arica, northern Chile.
